KMOP – Social Action and Innovation Centre was established in 1977 and is a leading NGO with more than 43 years of experience in supporting vulnerable people through the provision of social services, implementation of social initiatives, education, research and development of know-how on social policy issues. KMOP designs and implements impactful initiatives, aiming to make a difference in tackling the ongoing challenges in a globalized world.

Through its actions, KMOP promotes equality, tolerance, diversity, solidarity and human dignity. Over the past 15 years, the organisation has implemented more than 100 European and 200 national programs, with more than 20,000 beneficiaries. Major projects include the design and operation – in cooperation with the relevant bodies – of the first Open Care Centers for the Elderly (KAPI) and Second Opportunity Schools (SSC). Also, KMOP has been implementing since 2015 the initiative “Live Without Bullying”, which aims to combat school and online bullying. This action provides free and anonymous counselling support to students, parents and teachers. Finally, KMOP maintains three psychosocial rehabilitation structures for people with mental disorders, a day center for people with mental disabilities and two social services in Piraeus and Thessaloniki.
